Andrew Albert Griffith fondly known as “ brows” Ali”, Griff, Tim Allen, Inspector gadget, Brother Griff? Papa G, was truly a man of God and easily described as a loving, love able, altruistic, god fearing, eloquent, dapper, multi talented, musically inclined , devoted husband, father and church leader.
On Tuesday October 20, 1931 Andrew arrived in position number 4 of eight siblings To Herbert and Olga Griffith, on the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago.
Although He grew up as a skinny sickly child he matured into a strong , energetic , vibrant , athletic , firebrand, well known for his outstanding cricketing skills.
On June 26 1959 Andrew married the love of his life and help meet, Symonize Greaves and together they created and nurtured 6 adoring kids, Derrick Albert Jr, Peggy Sue, Dexter, Nancy, Annmarie and
Andrew’s work career was long and varied. Starting off as a commercial school teacher, he served as a postman, police officer, insurance company branch manager and a counselor. In the 1980’s Andrew together with his wife migrated to the US where he lived and worked for almost 30 years, finally retiring in 2010as a counselor.
In 2011 he and his beloved wife packed up and returned to their native land to settle for the rest of their days.
His devotion to his immediate family, and to God were all that mattered to andrew iHe gave his all and was willing to self sacrifice in the interest of either.
His last days on this earth unfolded quite rapidly with his Unexpected diagnoses of stage 4 cancer, his repatriation to the United States from Trinidad where he spent his terminal 3 weeks surrounded by the love and support of his wife and 6 children.
Andrew leaves to morn his wife Symonize , his children Derrick, Peggy Sue, Dexter, Nancy , Annmarie and Paul His sons in law Arnott Phillip, Lester Joseph, Kirk Martinez, daughter in law Patricia Griffith, grandchildren Ryan, Danielle, Darren, Megan,Teri , Matthew, Tyrell, Gabrielle, Rayvohn, Paul Junior and Jaydon. Great grand father of Malachi, Empress, and Jeremiah. His sister Margaret Edwards. Nephews and nieces as well as Members of his church family.
He has no doubt left behind a legacy of love , humility and godliness that will linger in our memories for an eternity.
